Crash (2024) is a full length AI-generated remake of the 1996 film Crash directed by David Cronenberg and based on the 1973 novel by J.G. Ballard. The video is made entirely of feeding screenshots from the original film into Runway’s Gen-2 image-to-video software, which re-animates the film stills. Crash (2024) was originally shown as part of the May 2024 exhibition Machines of Loving Grace at Ditch Projects in Springfield, OR.
